Acer has launched its most affordable 2-in-1 Windows tablet to date.

The Acer One 10 is a tablet with a 10.1 inch display, an Intel Atom Bay Trail processor, and a $200 price tag.

It’s available for purchase from Acer or Best Buy.

The Aspire One 10 has entry-level specs, including just 2GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, 2MP front and rear cameras, and Windows 8.1 with Bing software.

But it has a 1280 x 800 pixel IPS display with wide viewing angles, and a microSDXC card reader for removable storage.

This looks like a good laptop for users looking for a  cheap tablet, and laptop, but can't afford to buy a cheap tablet, and a laptop.

looks nice, but I rather just have a laptop.
If this Tablet Laptop has specs like a laptop with a 1TB storage drive, 8GB of RAM, and Intel or AMD CPU, this could be a good laptop where you can easily replace the keyboard, touchpad, USB ports by replacing the keyboard dock.

In my opinion, it looks like a pretty bad time to be launching a Windows 8.1 device, considering that Windows 10 is right around the corner. They could have waited a few more weeks and launched it as one of the first Windows 10-based tablet/laptop...

Windows 10 is a free upgrade for Windows 8.1.

I think there will be some people who rather use Windows 8.1 because Windows 10 Home now forces you to install Windows Update automatically unless you use the more expensive Enterprise version of Windows 10 for $200 like older Pro versions of Windows which cost $200.

Windows 8.1 user interface is not as nice looking as Windows 10, but at least, users have more control over Windows Updates, and it comes with other useful features like DVD playback built-into the operating system, and support for Windows Media Center which is now gone in 10.

There is also no Voice Assistant Cortana Built-into Windows 8.1, so 8.1 won't have MS's Cortana listening to them while they speak, and type in the Startmenu like Windows 10 Cortana.

I know, but just like with smartphones, even if older models do receive the latest updates, people are usually more inclined to purchased the models that are advertised as running on the latest version of the operating system...

What I mean to say is, a tablet advertising itself as one of the first Windows 10 tablets will attract more attention than just another tablet running on Windows 8.1 that will eventually allow its users to upgrade themselves to Windows 10.

If Acer waited for Windows 10 to be release, Acer would miss out on the many "Back to School" buyers going off to College and High School since they may not wait for Windows 10 to be release when the school starts in August, so Acer decided to sell their tablet laptop PC with Windows 8.1.

A lot of students also don't trust newer operating systems working with older educational software which they need for school courses because the software they use for school was made in 2009+ (Windows 7), and 2012+(Windows 8/8.1) years before Windows 10 release date.

Many Students don't have much money to buy new software which is compatible with Windows 10 because a lot of students only have income from student loans, part time jobs, or their parents' money to use for spending on software, books, tuition, and other stuff,

I bet, these tablet PCs will be installed with Windows 10 when Windows 10 is released, and the remaining tablets installed with Windows 8.1 are all sold out.
