The main advantage of PC gaming is you can switch games rather quickly since a lot of games no longer require a CD game disc to run, and with 3rd party programs, you can rip your older Game disc like Star Craft 1, and play the game from the hard drive.

You can also use a bunch of shortcut keys for performing combos, and tasks in games.

Computer gamers also have the option to use a keyboard, joystick, racing wheel, or controller to play games on.

If you have a very expensive, and fast gaming computer, you can keep using it to play newer games in the next 5 to 10 years depending on how high end your computer is.

yup, not to mention if you build it yourself it will last longer than parts from some Dell or Gateway computer,

Consoles are great for ease and having a bunch of people around,
but when it comes to SOLO gaming i prefer the computer, especially the mouse/keyboard setup for FPS, plus you can do all the day-to-day internet stuff, bill paying, etc.

It is possible to make an Online game server if you subscribe to a VPS or Dedicated Web server. I think you can also use a home computer, but your internet connection and a computer might be too slow for making an online gaming server to game on.

If you have some basic knowledge on computer networking, and friends who can bring their PC over to your house then you can have a LAN party like how the Koreans enjoy competitive Starcraft PC gaming.

Most consoles also require a TV and are very static, while Laptops nowadays are good enough for you to play, meaning you can play games anywhere anytime.. I myself usually take my laptop to the university and when I make a break from studying I usually play some games to relax

Lower cost is the primary advantage to me. You can play free to play MMOs, or you can get cheaper games at the store. PC games typically go down in price faster than console games.

I have to agree with you there. I don't believe in 'hacking' the consoles, but there's plenty of perfectly free, legit and fun PC games out there. There's also more interaction with other people out there, and it seems people stick to their games much longer on PC. One of the main things I look for in a game is the community, and I feel it's better on PC games.

Also, most everyone has a PC, and you can possibly drag along friends to play with you at any time. On a console, either they have to own the same console and game as you (not that likely) or you have to be physically next to each other to play. It's much more convenient on a PC

In my opinion the advantages of PC gaming are the following..

- Higher resolution graphics

- AA + AF (Higher levels of AA + AF)

- Better Graphics

- Mouse + Keyboard

- Ability to mod and customize

- Massive online multiplayer games

If developers utilize the power of modern PC hardware, more can be done with a PC game than a console game. Some of these perks include physics, destructible environments, realistic looking shaders and textures, larger environments, more enemies, more players etc.. the possibilities can be endless.

You type faster. I can type 100 wpm now because I used to play online games. Also, hand-eye coordination and familiarity with the computer.
