According to their official website, the Russian antivirus vendor Agnitum has sold their antivirus and firewall products to Yandex, which decided to discontinue the security programs for consumers.

In December 2015 Yandex acquired Agnitum software technology. These technologies will now be used to protect users of Yandex Browser. As a result of the acquisition, Agnitum terminates direct and partner sales of the Outpost product line.

Agnitum will provide antivirus base updates, bug fixing and technical support until December 31, 2016.

Agnitum's Firewall was considered the second best firewall in the world according to Top Ten Reviews:

However, the Agnitum Outpost security suite landed on the 20th spot due to poor antivirus and anti-spyware results:

never even heard of it.

I think I used Outpost Firewall in the past. It is too bad that Outpost is being discontinued instead of selling Outpost to another PC security company which want to keep Outpost going instead of closing it down like Yandex.

Of Agnitum or of Yandex? Either way, they are both Russian companies. Agnitum's Firewall was one of the best personal firewall software out there. According to Wikipedia, during the past few years, their firewall code was licensed by several security software publishers, among which: Avast, AVG, Lavasoft and Bullguard.

both and didn't knew they were top in the fire wall tech.
