Allwinner $5 quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 chipset hits mass production

At CES this year Chinese fabless semiconductor company Allwinner announced its first 64-bit tablet solution, the $5 quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 based A64 chipset. As of August the company has revealed that those chips have entered mass production with several customers.

$5 is pretty affordable for a quad-core CPU. I wonder will be seeing $5 chips from Intel, and AMD soon since there are now $5 chips made by other companies.
