Am I the only one who feels like there is (almost) no anime with an original story?

So, what do you think? Do you think there are many anime which got unique plots?

Fun fact, the guy who did Attack on Titan openly admits the series rips off Muv Luv… which is a porn game.

I do remember Death Note getting shat on a lot on the /a/ board on 4chan for “ripping off” something, but that was back in 2006, so I can’t remember what it was.

There are several things that are massively influential, but aren’t mainstream famous, but have large cult followings. So because you haven’t heard of the originator, you think it’s fresh and new.

Nothing wrong with something not being original, as long as it’s entertaining. I just think Clara’s problem is that she really only watches Battle anime, which is why she makes a lot of threads asking about things that are uncommon in the genre but common outside of it.

When you only watch one genre, you can quickly get exhausted with everything essentially being the same.

Maybe not specifically titans, but the concept has been explored in various other things like soldiers, aliens, monsters, and Muv Luv used robots. The creator basically says “yeah man, I just took Muv Luv and changed the robots to titans”.
