Am I the only one who wishes nostalgia didn't exist?

Sometimes I have to say I do wish this, it'd make life so much easier for everyone if people could see things on a purely objective/neutral level without a rose tinted view of the past.

And discussing things like games would be so much easier, don't you think?

Does anyone else agree? Anyone else wish the world literally had no nostalgia, and people weren't too obsessed by the past?

I also I gree with you Nin for example the hate some of the more recent pokemon games got for their pokemon designs. As most of us here in this forum have probobly seen one article about this some fans hate on the games cause the designs aren't like red and blue.

Yeah, I want to see less cutesy Pokémon and more fearsome designs. We have some nice strong-looking ones but I'd much prefer to see a dragon that would look like an end boss in a Dragon Quest game rather than something like Dragonite. I mean, the original name of the game is Pocket Monster Trainer... I don't feel like something that looks like a child's plush pillow a 3 year old would carry around like an eevee or jigglypuff fits "monster" in my head.

I'd also like to see a storyline MAJOR change as I often say. Enough with "team so-and-so tries to take over the world using pokémon". Either GameFreak is hanging on to that theme for fear of marketing dropping, they are being uncreative, or using the nostalgia thing as a means / excuse. Time to move on. It is old, done to death, and makes every game feel like a remake rather than a new installment - at least to me.

I don't wish this. I love the nostalgic feelings when I smell something and it makes me think of something or I hear a song that reminds me of a happy time.

Heck, I took a walk today at lunch time and I smelled a fimiliar smell. It reminded me of when I was at my babysitters house and they had an SNES. It reminded me of playing Super Mario World and... I can't remember the name of the game. You're like some kid and he enters the world of books. It was cool.

I mean whenever I play Majora's Mask and I protect the Romani Ranch from the aliens, I think about the song Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. Mainly because the when I first played MM I had a hard time with the alien segment and I couldn't beat it. I had to go to my grandparents' house anyway so I went there and got some new music. I got Bohemian Rhapsody and I decided to listen to my iPod while playing the game and before I started, Bohemian Rhapsody came on and I beat the aliens.

So now I get that nostalgic feeling when I play MM or when I hear Bohemian Rhapsody.

Long story short, nostalgia is the best feeling in the world.

I think we all like that feeling or at least get some strong emotions out of it, and I think we all are biased one way or another based off past experiences. It isn't not liking nostalgia, it's not liking ideas or points of view you think are stupid. Which none of us like.

You could also say you hate bias, but we don't care when it causes someone to agree with us. We just like to focus on the bad.

You're not alone. Nostalgia can be quite an issue. Though making new memories is equally as important as keeping the fondness of the past closeby.
