Open now, is the beta version of Amazon MP3, which will sell DRM-free tracks from 180,000 artists and 20,000 labels priced between .89 and .99 cents.
Albums will run between $5.99 and $9.99 and the top songs and albums will see small discounts. Format-wise, the tracks will be 256Kbps MP3s.
