The cost of Amazon Prime is about to increase. During Thursday's earnings call to go over Amazon's quarterly performance, the e-commerce giant announced that it will raise the price of its Prime membership from $119 per year to $139 per year. Month-to-month subscriptions will also see an increase from $12.99 to $14.99.

The Amazon price hikes will go into effect starting February 18, 2022 for new members. Existing members will pay the new price starting March 25, 2022. However, if you're one of the millions of Americans with a Prime membership, there's a small Amazon hack you can do now to avoid paying the price increase.

Existing Prime members can gift themselves a Prime membership for $119. (It's worth noting that you'll be charged tax on your membership). Once you receive the e-mail/gifted membership, just let it sit in your e-mail inbox until your current membership expires.

As long as there's the free regular shipping with some wait it's well worth it. Just makes Prime Day at the end of the year worth it that much more.

I have the Amazon credit card and the cash back rewards covers more than the fee so I'm good with it. The convenience factor is a major plus for me, it's difficult for me to make time to go to the stores.

It is too bad that Amazon decided to raise the price of Prime. At least, Amazon only raise the price by $2 per month.

I genuinely don't mind paying extra for Amazon, getting next day (sometimes same day) deliveries on pretty much everything is pretty impressive. I don't really watch Amazon Prime much but they have started adding Live Premier League matches on which is awesome.

If Netflix keeps increasing the price, I'll probably cancel that at some stage though,

When it becomes $100 a month? ^^;

I realized that I was running low on face moisturizer last night around 10am. I looked outside this morning and it was on my porch before 8:00am. AMAZING convenience.
