APKTime is a tool that allows you to install the best APKs that you can’t find on app stores like Google Play Store and Amazon Appstore.
You don't need to look for the APK on the internet and then download it, you have all the popular APKs in one place.

Here is how to install it: Installing APKTime on Android

This is legal, correct?

I'm slightly confused about what it is. Is it like a store for apps that aren't on the Play Store? Because if not, then couldn't we just install the APK files for apps not on the play store directly from their sites without needing a tool like this?

Instead of looking for such APKs (some of them don't have a website) and download them , it is much easier to download them from one place.
APKTime store only the best APKs that many users need.

Ah, okay got it. So it is a sort of store/marketplace then. That's actually quite a good thing especially if it has the APKs for some of the apps that people use to stream TV shows and movies. Those apps are always a bit hard to find on sites.

I got an email just recently saying they are stopping APKs from being put in the google play store and instead are using something else for the google play store. So that will lead to users who used to get APKs from other places to have problems. I don't use Android but thought you might want to know.

sounds like trouble.

It seems like they are just changing the file type so that apps will begin to be "signed" by Google. It doesn't sound too bad at the start until you realise it's actually quite a bit problematic in terms of app safety etc.

Yes it is much easier that all the popular APKs are found in one place.
