IndieWire reports that Warner Bros. Animation and Amblin Television are developing a new version of the beloved 90s cartoon after its recent surge in popularity on Netflix service. Steven Spielberg, who developed the original 99 episodes, is expected to work on the reboot. The series is still said to be early in development and doesn't have a network attached yet.
I highly doubt this could be as good as the original.
Seeing as the world can't take a joke anymore, I don't think this will work. The original used satire as it's main form of comedy and it worked great for the 90's. But in today's world, if you make one offensive sounding joke, god help you.
I'm not even sure how much of the original VA cast is still around, that aside its like you say you can't make offensive stuff unless you're an adult cartoon like South Park or any Fox based animations.
