ahhh great news in the medical word recently. obama has allowed research and development of stem cells. I was pretty pissed at bush for not allowing it but if we wanted to really cure people with all these illness of today then we will need this development of stem cells.

what are your thoughts?

It's a good idea, although we'll never cure cancer (how the Hell do we plan to cure genetic diseases any ways?)

This could also open the door into genetic experimentation...and we'll end up with more problems than we could ever hope for.

this is true, when this starts happening the gov really needs to keep a eye on it from keeping it going out of control.

I think if there is evidence that stem cell effort is worth the effort then it be good, but if there are more effective methods of curing illnesses then more research time should go toward the best way to cure illnesses.

With stem call research, scientists can discover new cures for future diseases, providing that this works well in their favor. I think it's good for scientists to start on this now because it will open the doors to many discoveries related to life on Earth.

I think this is personally one of the most vile things a human could do. I think we should find ways using existing humans rather than stem cells. I mean this life doesn't even have a choice, I mean why can't eventually someone who wants to commit sucide have their body striken and ripped apart.

humans can't afford to be soft anymore. if we must use unborn life to save born life from ever growing deadly illnesses. so be it. I do agree that it is wrong and inhuman but it must be done.

I'd rather stem cells be used than animals. That's all I can say. But fully grown humans would be better - particularly those who already have the disease naturally occurring - in labs diseases are forced and not naturally occurring so results are less likely to be reliable.
