So, I just checked my Steam library and I found Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City lying there. Having heard about the upcoming Arkham Knight a lot, I have decided to actually start playing the game. I am not really a Batman fan and I do not watch Batman movies a lot, but I bought the game because it looked interesting and was available in a Humble Bundle. The game is downloading and meanwhile I would like to hear opinions about the game. I have been a fan of third-person games and I think this game would be cool as well. It also has positive ratings from the gaming community. Nonetheless, I would like to hear opinions from here as well.
I haven't played any of the Batman games but I hear really great things. I am usually pretty skeptical of super hero games but Batman seems to have really done a good job. Usually I think of Superman games or X-men games and they are all just really lack luster. It seems like the main reason for this would be the main allure is the relation to media so they don't have to focus as much on the gameplay mechanics but rather focus on the relation to media.
The first two games are pretty good. Arkham Origins...not so much. I mean, it's good, it's just not really worth it. It's more like an expansion than it is a proper game in its own right. It doesn't really bring much more to the table, and it shipped with that game breaking bug which they refused to change. It's just...off putting to see that they didn't QA the game that well.
However, Arkham Knight seems pretty good. Thankfully it's coming from the original Developers, who did not work on Origins, so hopefully it'll be a step back in the right direction. Although it has been delayed.
