Posting more on weekends might increase activity, and making more topics about the weekend.
Any tips on increasing activity on a forum on weekends?

what are my tips? there are no grantee tips to bring in activity on any day.
only thing I can really suggest is making your forum worth spending kids free time on.

It might be worth it to tell people who work or go to school on the weekend with access to a computer about your forum. I notice a lot of people like to surf the web on their free time at work or school.
I don't get the work since your suppose to be working (and I would think you want to get way from the pc on break) but at schools kids got lots of time to browse.
