However, an irregular time signature is one that has an unusual number of beats per measure. For example, 5/4, 7/8, 11/8, 29/16. Some well known tunes are actually irregular. If you actually tried counting the beats, unless you know the time signature, you might get confused. For example, here's an 11/8 tune. Then you get 13/8, such as
