Yes, I am currently using the HTML5 video for YouTube when I use FireFox 5, Google Chrome 12, and IE9.

does it work better than java and possibly load videos faster?

Youtube uses Adobe Flash Player and Javascript. I notice HTML5 video player don't crash in Google Chrome. The load times are okay. But, only some videos would use the HTML5 player while other videos uses the Adoble Flash and Javascript player.

The HTML5 player would be good for people who can't watch videos because their schools or friends Browser does not have Adobe Flash Player on it. All you need is a compatible browser which can view HTML 5 code like Google Chrome, IE9, Firefox 4-5, and Apple Safari.

One of the good things about the HTML5 video player is it is less likely to crash because it uses HTML to display video unlike flash which uses a plug-in you need to install.

Like the Angry Birds HTML 5 game just requires a newer browser like FF5-5, IE9, Chrome, etc to play games.

Many people claim HTML5 would be the future for animation, video, and interactive websites while Adobe Flash Player would not be as popular in a few years when more people learn how to write apps in HTML5.

Yes, it would be cool that if we can play HTML5 games and watch HTML5 video on handheld web browsers, but I heard most of the handheld browsers are pretty basic.

Examples of HTML5 games.

It is sad that browsers for game consoles are not as good as Desktops or even Smartphones like the iPhone, Android phone, or other nice phones.

I think that Game console makers might be afraid if they make a HTML5 browser for their consoles that they might lose sales of actual games since HTML5 games look pretty good these days, and all you need is a web browser to play them.

That's what I'm trying out right now, so far it works good and could be a good replacement for the original player that is powered by Adobe Flash.

I think the HTML5 player can be a good replacement for the Adobe Flash Player since no plug-in or add-on needs to be downloaded and installed to your web browser for watching it. All you need is an HTML compatible browser like Firefox 4.
