Anyone miss this Mario Kart gimmick?

When you've lost all your balloons in battle mode, you become a Bomb and can do whatever you want? Like, drive into other drivers, break people's traps, jump off the level for the hell of it. Once you've exploded, you're permanantly out of the game.
Anyone wish they should bring this back? Heck, anyone wish they should bring back the old style balloon battle where the last man standing wins?

I agree...I hate how losing your balloons just hurts your score, not making you lose the game. Another way video games have gotten easier. My favorite Mario Kart DS pastime was to do Block Fort with expert computers...see how many I could win in a row. I like the bomb version better than what DS does with item boxes, and I think that a return to the old system would be great. So yeah...with you on all counts haha.

Yeah, I loved this feature.
I really think the Wii U should be like a mix from all Mariokart games, like custom karts, double players, tricks, last man standing, bomb-OMB karts etc.
