Anyone play much Hearthstone? It's a trading card game without the trading made by the same guys who made World of Warcraft. I personally LOVE it. It has great looks, great music and great atmosphere. I love the way the loading bars all say things like polishing the glasses, or finding your friend's table since it's set inside a bar. I'm not gonna say I'm good at it, but I play it quite a bit and have had a lot of fun with it.

I have a friend who's obsessed with it, but I don't personally know what it is. I know it's like that Yugioh card game online that he was obsessed with for a while before Heartstone.

Couple friends got me into it, played it extensively for a month or so…I'm not opposed to the whole 'do the same thing time and time again' concept, as League of Legends is a game I play a LOT of…what irks me is the fact there's no such thing as a deck that will at least have a chance against everything else. There are counterdecks. Running into one of those is incredibly frustrating, especially when the people toy with you as they know you're defeated. Best example I can think of on short notice is someone who let me take them to 2 HP while I was almost full, then pulled a massive hit with relatively low value cards they'd been holding for half the game to take me out. I try my best not to do that to other players…if I win, I want it to be as painless for the enemy as possible. Knowing I'm going to lose not due to skill or anything, but to a counter to my deck? It's irritating to the point I got disillusioned with the game.

I've played it a bit, but once I got to the point you had to start playing against other people I quit. I knew I was already well behind everyone else in having card unlocks to even try and build a decent deck and likely wouldn't stand even the smallest chance, and on top of that, head to head games stress me out way too much. Most just aren't fun for me. :/

I wouldn't say much, but I try to hit rank 20 each month to get the cardback, although lately I've been slacking off a lot and not playing at all. Hearthstone is a neat little F2P game, and while I've only ever reached rank 16, it's been really nice experience and definitely worth the pricetag of $0.

Yeah. I don't like the grind though. Feels like something in which you need a lot of money to burn. I like the graphics and style. Edit: And I haaaaaaaaaaaaate games with exclusive content in which new players cannot get. That sounds fun all right! (Hearthstone has a load of cosmetics and 2 cards that fall into this.)

Well, the only cosmetics are the cardbacks (which I must agree I'm a bit salty about), but the heroes are purchasable and the golden border comes with 500 ranked wins on that hero, so I wouldn't say that locking of those is a big deal.

You can also get a load of fun out of the game without spending a dime, as you can earn the coins in-game, and use them to unlock the story. Not as fast, obviously, but still a viable method.

I must admit that aside form the Pokemon TCG Online I haven't really played any other games, so I can't really compare them. But I've played enough Hearthstone to know that the grinding is not all that bad, taking into account that many F2P games make it horrible.

Well, I'd say in my experience Hearthstone is on the higher end of annoying. One of the most annoying things I found about it was the inability to play singleplayer for modes at all (only mission related stuff). It's no Chinese whale-worshipper where you are OP, but... it skirts it. Considering how closely linked CCG's and RPG's are, I'm surprised nobody has tried an aggressive monetization scheme for RPG's yet. (I know MMORPG's, though...)

So I played a little bit a while back. It wasn't horrible, but I can't keep my mind on card games. I get bored easily.
