Seriously, the amount of times they seem to act in the complete opposite of their reader's interests is kind of depressing.
For example, the amount of press writers who were apparently fine with Mass Effect 3's ending, liked the idea of paid game mods, defended the Xbox One DRM or who seemed all too happy with censoring games they didn't like is just pathetic.
Isn't the point of a journalist to be an advocate for the consumer and normal person, not for the industry?
