It's happening in 3 hours. I don't anticipate anything mind blowing being revealed but I will probably tune in regardless.

I know Apple is big but I never used any service or products from them directly as I know of and they tend to be on the pricier side too.

I did not watch the Apple event because I usually do not watch electronics unveiling events because of a lack of time.

Grungie Grungie Perhaps ordinary is the incorrect word... typical customer maybe? Ones that use their devices to simply stream movies, text, browse through social media. For instance the Mac Studio is designed for the individuals that have to edit thousands of photos, manipulate 4k content, or create professional music. For a price point starting at 2K this machine would have to make me money. :)

I think the lines get blurred, because people buy their other computers for around that price for similar “ordinary” content. For example, people buy their similarly priced iMac’s and MacBook Pros just for web browsing and office work, and those devices were way too overpowered for that.

There’s always the intended audience vs the actual audience.

Nothing for me in the event either so I missed out. For a lot of these events, I tend to just catch up on the highlights later on anyway

Agreed. I think Apple are targeting professionals with their higher end models - there are people out there that want the latest and greatest just because. I know personally I've had my Macbook Pro since 2012 (I acquired it used even) and it still works great. If this ever goes obsolete or craps out on me I will probably pick up another MacBook Pro.

Iirc the 2012 models aren’t supported anymore. You might need to check up on that if you want security updates.

Apple usually targets the pro-sumers in the creative field, which baffles PC gamers, as something you’ll notice that they’re completely clueless on uses of computers outside of gaming. It’s the equivalent of being good at baking a certain style of cake, but you don’t know anything about any other kind of cooking or baking.

They also scoff at Apple’s prices, and have no idea what the actual professional equipment is priced at. Their $5000 monitor is basically a steal compared to other reference monitors costing $10K-15K.

I saw the news, didn't take it that serious, because I got stuffs I was working on, that didn't allow me to streamline it. Maybe next they feature such Live event, I'll make out time to be there, and see how they perform it.

You made me look at my system closer it looks like I have the MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013) so it's still being supported. At least, I think it is - I still get updates from time to time.

You should be fine for now, I know for a fact the 2012 was where they cut it off.

I imagine I will end up inheriting my husband's Macbook Pro when he decides to upgrade. Hopefully that won't be until another couple of years though. These machines aren't cheap. lol

Don’t have much money to buy anything new this year but I do like what they’ve announced.
