In a note issued to investors on Tuesday and provided to AppleInsider, J.P. Morgan analyst Rod Hall said that he expects Apple to move 24 million next-gen Apple TVs in 2016, with the focus on gaming giving the device the push it needs to be Apple’s next major hardware success story.

“We believe that the combination of graphics capability and an app store in the product could be disruptive for existing console players and positive for game (developers),” Hall wrote in his note.

I bet, selling 24 millions Apple TVs is possible because there are so many Apple fans which are overly loyal to the Apple Brand, and buys everything Apple makes like the Apple Watch, iPads, iPods, iPhones, iMac, and Macbook laptops.

reactions right now are mixed, I wouldn't expect this much right now.

I agree there is a possibility the new Apple TV won't sell as many unless there are a lot of cool Apps, games, and TV shows and movies that get release for Apple TV which make people want to buy it.

But, there are a lot of loyal Apple fans, so Apple probably get millions of Apple TV buyers from loyal fans.

I probably would not buy one as well mainly because I don't own a TV with HDMI ports, and there are not a lot of apps, games, and content like TV shows, and movies which are exclusive to the Apple TV and iTunes.

It would be awesome if Apple made the Apple TV a full featured mini computer where users can run programs like Word Processors, video editors, photoshop, and PC and console quality games like Crysis, Doom 3, Half-Life, and Tomb Raider like the Nvidia Shield Android TV console, and Steambox.

Well, the way I see it, Apple is in the gaming scene in the same place where Microsoft is in the mobile phones scene. They struggle to do something, but they just don't seem to be able to put their stuff together.

I think once more iPhone, and iPad games are ported to the Apple TV, there would be more gamers on the Apple TV since a lot of iOS Racing, First person shooters, and RPG games are more fun with a controller, and a large TV.

iPhone users also need an Apple TV to stream iPhone games to a large TV because the iPhone/iPad does not have HDMI video ports, so the Apple TV is the most easy way to stream games from an iPhone onto a TV.

Apple probably first get a lot of casual gamers who previously owned a Wii or no console, and casual gamers will use the Apple TV to play games like trivia, puzzle, motion controlled, and music games.
