Apple Pencil | First Impressions

Maybe it was a software problem with the App, or the guy was not pressing hard enough on the iPad which caused the lag at 2:14.

But, for most of the video, the pencil seems pretty smooth.

Personally, I don't think it's anywhere close to the quality provided by the pens of a good drawing tablet.

To be fair, dedicated drawing tablets and their pens have been out for many years longer than tablets like the iPad, so drawing tablet makers have a lot of time to improve their quality. Plus, drawing tablets are usually connected to a more powerful PC, so they have the processing power of a power PC to make using a drawing tablet more smooth.

This isn't worth $99 as a standalone product.

Well, besides the stylus, the iPad Pro also has, you know, apps. I'm seriously fed up with Windows Phone / Windows 10's ghost town of an app store.

I agree most of the good apps seem to be on iOS for iPad, and iPhone vs Windows Phone and Blackberry which don't have as many good apps. The Android versions of some apps also don't seem to run as fast as the iOS version sometimes.

I think a lot of App makers mostly care about Apple iOS because Apple does a better job at promoting good apps in the App Store search results and app rankings, and more iOS users likely to buy apps, and in-app purchases than Android and Windows users.

Exactly. I was a big Windows Phone enthusiast and both my mom and I own a Windows Phone smartphone, but I'm giving up on it and switching to an iPhone soon. Considering that SnapChat gets new features all the time for iOS and Android, but is missing from the Windows Phone Store, I think we can say that Microsoft doesn't give a darn about their mobile operating system.
