Possibly, since most apps seem to be designed for computer newbies, and just require you to tap/click on 1-2 buttons or swipe the screen to use it, and Apps don't have short cut keys like Desktop computer software.

Pretty soon some computer newbies might not even bother learning how to use Photoshop, or MS Paint because there are Apps which automatically fixes photos, add visual effects and resizes your images for posting on social networks like Twitter, Facebook, etc.

I got a feeling in the next few years some newbie computer users won't know how to use File Managers, and The Menu bar on older software since there are Apps which automatically displays all your image and video files on the main screen, and let you use a search engine and tags/categories to search for them, so people don't have to use Windows explorer to manually search for them.

I also believe the command prompt/line CMD.exe will not be used by a lot of users when there are more Apps for doing stuff like flushing the DNS, and ipconfig, so the command prompt will be mainly be used by older geeks.

I heard there are also Apps for making Apps without knowing much computer programming.

To be honest, I think that software should be simple, and it should be easy to use. It's what I like about windows 7, I don't have to have my desktop cluttered to have my shortcuts, since they can be pinned to my taskbar. Though, things like Windows 8 are discusting. I understand that your terminal/command is one of the most powerful tools to have on a PC, but the majority of people don't need it. I mean, hell. I don't even use my command a lot of the time. The GUI is honestly much simpler and quicker to use a good 90% of the time, for near anything that's not power-user related. I do think it's sickening how dumb people are getting with PCs.

the easier things are, the more people forget to do it the long hard way.

The long hard way is usually the best way if you want to fully customize your files, and software. I think using Gimp or Photoshop to edit files can produce better results if you know how to use them rather then using an App to automatically add visual effects to pictures.

Indeed, Apps main purposes are making doing stuff as easy or even easier then using a TV remote control if it requires people to use menus or too many settings the App won't have many users in many cases.

I notice many Apps with sound don't even have volume controls except for sound on or off/mute by clicking on a sound icon shaped like a speaker on the screen, so there is no way of adjusting the Base, and volume except with the volume button on the actual phone.

Most of the game Apps on tablets and smartphones only require you to tap and swipe the screen, and not remember advance button Combos like Street fighter or Mortal Kombat which are games where you need to memorize button combos to beat other skilled players, or on hard difficulty settings.

There are also usually no cheat codes in Apps, so players don't have to remember cheat codes to cheat in games...
