Yes, I think there are new versions of electronics like smartphones, tablets, TVs and computers kind of disappointing because the new version has features I might not use much, and it is not much faster than previous versions, but they sometimes cost more.

There are some electronics like the Amazon Kindle Fire which got some pretty good upgrades in the next version after a year. The new Kindle Fire HD is a lot better than the first Kindle Fire according to reviews online. The Google Nexus 4 smartphone is also a lot better than last years Google Nexus phone.

But, there are newer versions of the slim Playstation 3 after a few years which are not as good as the first version of the fat PS3 which can play  Playsation 2 and PS1 games, and also can be used to install Linux on it while the newer versions of the PS3 can't play PS2 games, or install Linux operating systems on them.

Well depends on the quality, if it is poor, then yes.

I agree if the new version is less reliable than it is not very good.

I thought the original Xbox 1 was better than the Xbox 360 because it did not suffer from the Red Ring of Death, and did not have as many reliability problems as the 360.

The Xbox 1 was the first high end console which was popular unlike the Sega Dreamcast which was also powerful, but failed to convince people to buy it.

I also think the Sony PS2 is better than the PS3 because the PS2 is very reliable, and there were less stories of people need to fix the PS2 like the PS3 which overheated, or had the Yellow Light of Death. The PS2 also has the best game library for a console I ever owned.
