Yes since a larger percentage of people don't know much about Auto-run CDs, flash drives, and floppies which try to install on to a computer when used on a PC, but more people know of computer viruses which spread by internet spam, websites, etc.

I read somewhere that criminals are starting to throw flash drives infected with spyware, malware, and viruses at buisnesses which use a lot of computers like banks, etc in the hope some one will plug it into the computer, so they can spy on the company or ruin their computers.

I know of someone who had a flash drive which was infected with a virus, and whenever the person plug in the drive it also infected the computer, and make the USB ports not work, and the PC slow.

interesting, well there are plenty of dumb USA people to have this little trick work.

And so yes, people will plug in random *insert device here* and end up screwed.

I read that some new External drives, and MP3 players which you buy from a electronics store can also contain viruses if a factory worker ,who is also a hacker, decided to secretly install auto-run viruses onto the MP3 player, External hard drives, or the installer CD.

Seagate Ships Virus-Laden Hard Drives

f you bought one of Seagate's Maxtor Basics consumer hard drives recently, check it for viruses. Especially if you're a gamer.

Seagate is warning that a "small number" of its Maxtor Basics Personal Storage 3200 hard drives recently shipped with the Virus.Win32.AutoRun.ah virus, malicious software that "searches for passwords for online games and sends them to a server located in China," according to a note posted on the Seagate Web site. Only drives purchased since August 2007 are affected, Seagate said.
