Are Stereo speakers less useful/overratad compared to one loud mono speaker on a smartphone?

If I only have one choice between one very loud mono speaker on a phone or two quiet lower volume stereo speakers, I pick the phone with a very loud mono speaker.

It is annoying that smartphone and tablet makers still install quiet speakers which are not loud enough to listen to music or audio in video in a room with a lot of noise, or outdoors where there are loud sounds from cars, animals like dog, and people.

I know those cheap external single mono speakers for smartphones are popular because most people looking for a cheap speaker are fine with a single mono speaker as long as the volume is loud enough, and the sound is clear.

Give me speakers any day, the phone speakers are nice but they can never beat real speakers.

I agree a pair of external speakers sound better than a phone speaker.

The phone speakers cant beat a pair of regular headphones in my expereince.

I always prefer to use external speakers like Bluetooth speakers or headphones as well.
