I notice all the popular Cable, Fiber, and DSL Internet Service Providers where I live now only provide modems which also have a built-in wi-fi router. There does not seem to be an option to get a new modem which only has a wired connection like in the past when modems were only wired, and you need to attach a wifi router to use wifi.

fine with me, I rather have them separated so I can better adjust the wifi signal.

You can always buy your own staff. They supply or you do. Doesn't matter really

I think buying your own modem is not always an option because the Internet Service Providers sometimes does not allow you to use your own modem which you buy from an online store like Amazon, or they block modems which are not their own.
