From Legend Zelda.net:
1. The game, while set in the world of A Link to the Past, does not take place right after the events of its prequel. Some time has passed since Ganon’s defeat in the Dark World. Hyrule is in a period of rebuilding and prominence when a new threat rises.
2. The villain is not Ganondorf or Vaati. There an entirely new foe to the series.
3. At this time the game is much more in depth than the past couple of handheld Zelda titles. There are at least 6 dungeons to overcome. Link will not be returning to any of the dungeons like the developers played with in Skyward Sword. The game is more traditional with the Zelda formula.
4.Unlike its prequel, there will be some focus on the franchise’s races via towns and etc. No details were provided on where their homes would be or how they would be situated. This may be interesting to see since the game is set in the same overworld as A Link to the Past.
5. The Dark World exists, but not in the same manner. Link’s wish at the end of the first game changed the world. The Dark World we will see is a similar albeit new form. It was returned to the Golden Land for a brief period. Evil beings still searched for it to acquire the Triforce.
6. Link is cursed, which is how he learns the weird abilities we saw in the reveal trailer.
7. Zelda plays a limited role. Nothing like what we saw in Spirit Tracks.
8. The game has some kind of multi-player.
Here are my thoughts on each point:
1. This seems plausible, Zelda games are never set directly after one another in the same world (even Majora's Mask had Link go dimension travelling first).
2. Possible. On the one hand, this seems like the one game in which Ganon's return as villain is the most 'logical' idea. On the other, most Zelda games nowadays (especially on handhelds) have tended to introduce a new villain, so this game could do so as well. Personally? I hope they don't introduce a new bad guy. They just never have the personality or character depth of Ganon.
3. Seems possible, hard to judge.
4. This makes some sense, but I don't think it'll be a major focus
5. The Dark World being redesigned a bit seems plausible enough, Ganon's defeat and Link's Triforce wish in the first Link to the Past should have changed the area quite a bit.
6. This seems like it could be true. How else do you get a magical painting ability?
7. How limited? If they mean 'damsel in distress', I'm not sure it's likely, that old characterisation of Zelda has kind of been abandoned for a reason. But it's definitely going to involve her less than in Spirit Tracks.
8. Possible, Nintendo did mention multiplayer before.

But what do you think? Are these new rumours true? Plausible? Post your thoughts below!
