Asus is gearing up to unveil another variant of the Asus Zenfone 2. This new variant (ZenFone 2 ZE551ML) will feature whopping 128GB of internal storage paired with 4GB of RAM. The predecessor variant featured just 64GB of internal storage.

It will be priced at $387 and will be up for purchase in Taiwan on June 18th at 10am. The Zenfone 2 sold around 100,000 units in Taiwan, and now with the forthcoming double storage variant of the Zenfone 2, the company is hoping to sell even more units in the country, given its pricing. Asus Zenfone range has been a success due to its low pricing and high specs, and now with the new variant, it would be interesting to see if the demand goes further up.

This does look like a good phone for $387.  With so much storage, and RAM, I bet this phone can probably emulate a lot of older console, and PC games without a need for a MicroSD Card to store the games on.

That's some very generous on-board storage, and the RAM is quite hefty too, all for a very reasonable price. I can see this appealing to a lot of folks wanting to get their hands on a top of the line smartphone but not willing to pay the price of a brandname one.

The max memory rating for the MicroSD is a little bit of a let down though at just 64GB. I would have thought they would have gone for 128GB seeing as that size is starting to do the rounds now.
