Avatar Marketplace

At a press luncheon following its E3 2009 Media Briefing, Microsoft announced that an Avatar Marketplace will be coming soon. The Marketplace will offer outfits and accessories for Xbox Live users to further customize their Avatar's appearance.

Some items will be free and some will be available for purchase using MS points. Microsoft showed a Halo 3 t-shirt that would be available for 80 MS points. Other items included a remote controlled Halo Warthog and ODST Armor.

Cool, but this sounds a lot like Second life.

I don't think this feature is going to be a great hit, unless you have tons of MS points laying around or really in to the community gaming stuff.

I think ity be a hit for people who are into MMO like Secondlife, or the Sims, but not for the general gamer.
