In a Nintendo Direct today for Bayonetta 2, a new Star Fox costume exclusive to the sequel was revealed. The costume joins the Link, Peach, Daisy and Samus costumes already announced. Each costume adds its own elements and moves to the gameplay and is ridiculously awesome-looking Nintendo fan service.
The online-only co-op mode was outlined. Characters other than Bayonetta will be playable, including Rodin from the previous Bayonetta game.
In addition to the new costumes and online character announcement, details were laid out for purchasing the game, either as a physical set or through the eShop. In a nutshell, those who buy the game at a traditional, brick-and-mortar retailer will get both Bayonetta 2 and the original Bayonetta on separate discs, while those purchasing the games as a download will still need to buy two different games. Purchasing Bayonetta 2 on the eShop will discount the original one, making the purchase price just under $60 USD.
The presentation outlined Bayonetta's gameplay, including a charging "Witch Time" attack, weapons, and powers, along with looks at the game's different modes and scoring. Much of what was shown was outlined by IGN's hands-on preview of the game.
Bayonetta 2 is coming out October 24 and is a Wii U exclusive. Keep checking back to IGN for upcoming news and a review.
