Be honest; do you mainly buy first or third party games?

Do you buy more first party games or more third party ones?

It's especially relevant for Nintendo consoles, although it's also possible to buy only first party games on the Playstation or Xbox as well now.

But what type do you buy more of?

First party games like Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Kirby, Metroid, Smash Bros, Star Fox, etc? This sort of includes second party games like those by Rare in the old days.

Third party games like Mega Man, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Castlevania, Madden, Call of Duty, etc?

Which do you buy more of?

I usually buy first party games because I'm more used to those. I've been trying to get more third party games, but...

First party by far. I'd say about 90% of my games are 1st party nintendo

Because they are first party game don't mean that they don't make crappy ones. I buy good games, no matter who made them.

Now my 3DS games are all first party, but that is mainly cause I bought the games my son wanted and they all were first party.

Does it actually matter? I buy good games, regardless of the company.

Majority is first party for me, especially with Nintendo...almost all the 3rd party games I've seen for Nintendo is so meh.

With Nintendo consoles, I tend to buy mostly first party titles, but my PS3 library is third party. Nintendo has kept a strong line up of first party games for many years, and I follow those. Xbox and PS3 hardly have first party series that I am aware of, so I generally buy just whatever catches my fancy with only a few series to collect with them.

With the upcoming third party support for the WiiU, will your opinions change?

Maybe. Granted, I have not gotten into several of the third party series announced for the Wii U thus far, but the fact that it HAS third party support means I am much more likely to end up getting those games.

Oh, ZombiiU. I am getting that as my first game (other than the Nintendo Land that comes with it).

With my 3DS I have bought equal parts first and third party games. With all of my previous Nintendo consoles, I mostly had first party games. I feel like Ninty hasn't tried to help the 3RD parties until recently, though.

A fail pun, is a fail pun.
@Spoony Nintendo is saying all 3rd parties are going to flock to the WiiU, which is probably true, since it's the only one of the latest gen, yet.
Plus, 3rd party+Nintendo = Best.Games.Ever.

Does my post contain a pun? If it does I was not aware... maybe that's why it failed, because it wasn't intended.

3RD parties.
Because it's for the 3DS.
Originally, it should be 3rd, instead of 3RD, IIRC.

Oops, that was not intentional... Sometimes I hold the Shift key down accidentally. Normally I proofread my posts before I submit them, but I didn't do a very good job on that one, apparently.

Probably about equal nowadays. My third party consumption has decreased massively solely because I enjoy them less than the PS4 exclusive, first party titles.
