I think the video card is the best part to upgrade on a newer PC since most computers which are new in the $500 or higher price range comes with 6-8GB, a multi-core 3+ GHz CPU, 1TB hard drive, and the onboard sound is good enough for music listening, and audio playback for videos and games.
But, the video cards on a lot of $500 desktop computers are integrated/onboard video which is not very good for watching very high resolution video, and gaming on medium video quality settings.
I read a lot of programs like Video Converters, Video editors, password hacking programs, and Web Browser like Firefox are using a computers video card to make websites, and files load faster by using the video card to help load and run the files.
