Best non-playable character who should have been playable

The title pretty much says it. There are a lot of iconic NPCs in video games and some are so cool that we always wished we could play as them. But we never got the chance.

So who are your NPCs you wish you'd get a chance to play?
 
Hrmm, good question. Nothing comes to mind but I know there have been some.
 
To be honest, I never notice NPC's all that much.
So, I don't have any such character that I wanted to use as a playable character.
 
In some of the Harry Potter games, there have been times I've wished you could play as some of the other characters from the Harry Potter series (even if just for a brief few minutes or for some side quest or something to that effect).
 
In "Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban", there are moments when you can switch back and forth. You can be Ron and Hermione for brief periods of time in addition to playing as Harry. But, I wouldn't mind getting to play as someone like Dumbledore or something but the series pretty much followed Harry and his two friends, Ron and Hermione.

that would be fun.
 
Yeah, I think it would as well. Even if it's just little side quests or something, they should let you play as another character for a bit. I think it would make the game even more fun than it already is.
