Whether you’re into games, anime, manga, or all three, this game is for you!
For a game that’s mostly associated with 60-year-old ladies, bingo has been getting quite popular with the 20-something-set. Maybe it’s because of all the variants, from the relatively tame Musical Bingo to the delightfully insane Rebel Bingo. Maybe it’s because they’re all liking it ironically, which is really the same thing as actually liking it – except the “ironically” part makes hipsters feel better about themselves. Whatever the reason is, the century-old game has captured the hearts and minds of the masses. Bingo is generally considered to be an offshoot of an ancient Italian game called "Il Giuoco del Lotto d'Italia", but Betfair’s explanation of how the game came about is a lot more interesting:![](https://somesite.kek/proxy.php?image=http%3A%2F%2Fgamingforce.us%2Fwordpress%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2013%2F10%2Fbingo-lingo.jpg&hash=d32097329563fc59da4579a313751857)
Bingo is now being paired with everything from country music to video games to celebrate Bingonus’ heroic sacrifice. (*Note that some parts of the preceding sentence may or may not be entirely factual.*) Anyway, even if being surrounded by bingo cards and eagerly waiting for the ball caller to yell out some numbers is not your thing, you can still add a little bingo action to whatever hobbies you have. If, for example, you love anime and manga but you’re starting to get tired of all the shounen (and maybe shoujo) clichés that pepper your favorite series, mash it up with some manga and anime tropes and make your own personalized bingo game. The same goes for video games. Heck you can probably even use the anime / manga bingo cards for any average JRPG out right now.

gamingforce.us/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/gtabingo.png The rules are basically the same as old-school bingo. Instead of numbers, fill the 5x5 grid on a basic bingo card template with different tropes that you constantly see in anime, manga, video games, movies – whatever strikes your fancy. You win the same way too: by forming five-square lines or by completely crossing out everything on your bingo card. Since November is chock full of hot new game releases, you can even use the cards for your own launch party event. I personally can’t wait to cross out “Missed a 90% accuracy shot and got shredded by a Mechtoid“ when XCOM: Enemy Within drops. Have fun!
