In an interview on CNET yesterday, Microsoft's former CEO Bill Gates revealed that the Windows group has "latched onto" Natal's camera-sensing technology with an eye towards using it for home entertainment and office applications.
Gates see the potential for using the new camera-sensing technology, recently demoed at E3, as a means of "interacting in terms of meetings, and collaboration and communication" and "for media consumption as a whole." While it seems that Gates' expectations are currently more focused on non-gaming applications, the potential for Natal to be an integrated part of a future Windows environment certainly raises questions about its possible use in PC games.
Microsoft has not yet provided a comment on the story, but we'll be sure to update you as soon as we learn more about the scope of Natal on the PC.
