Windows 10 is facing some fierce resistance from a few of the most dedicated torrenting communities. As TorrentFreak reports, the private torrent tracker iTS has banned its members from using the operating system over what it considers to be "terrible" new anti-privacy policies. These stem largely from a new Microsoft services agreement which covers select Windows 10 apps and services such as Cortana, Skype and Xbox Live: "We may automatically check your version of the software and download software updates or configuration changes, including those that prevent you from accessing the Services, playing counterfeit games, or using unauthorized hardware peripheral devices."

Many fear this passage will allow Microsoft to scan and ban Windows 10 users from playing pirated games and, perhaps, using modded controllers.

I bet, the banning of Windows 10 from Bittorrent trackers, could cause anime, and foreign film fans who pirate anime, and films to not use Windows 10 since Bittorrent is one of the main ways a lot of fans find, and download anime and foreign films because a lot of anime and foreign films are not available outside of Japan, Korea, and other countries because they are not popular enough to be release to DVD to other countries like Canada.

Anime, and foreign films are sometimes very expensive which causes poorer fans to download them from Bittorent, and download websites.

I wonder would some anime, and foreign films download websites ban Windows 10 because Windows 10 might report their site to the makers of the anime and films which could cause legal problems for the site owners, and users of the sites if the makers of the anime, and foreign film find their stuff being downloaded on a download site.

Read this the other day, I can believe it but someone is sure to download something while using W10.

Isn't it a bit of a rushed decision to ban Windows 10? I mean, until actual reports of Windows 10 blocking pirated games show up, they are just banning them on assumptions. We don't know if Windows 10 will actually do that so far. I think torrent sites should have waited a while before imposing a ban on Windows 10.

you got to realize that if torrent sites are actually tracked for their downloads via an OS, a lot of people would get into trouble.

I agree Torrent sites don't want to be tracked because a lot of people who use Torrents use them to download copyrighted files like Anime, music, movies, and games, so they are at greater risk of being sued by the RIAA, and MPAA for thousands to millions of dollars for piracy.

Plus, a lot of people in countries like Russia, North Korea, and the Middle East probably use Torrents to download movies, music, and pictures which are illegal to view in their country because of overly religious laws which can get people in trouble for viewing anime shows where woman dress in small and tight outfits.

I think Torrent Trackers who block Windows 10 want to be safer from getting sued, or arrested instead of being more popular by letting people use Windows 10 to track their torrents.

But most torrent sites are hosted in countries that don't care about the DMCA laws, such as Iceland, the Netherlands and the Ukraine...

Still don't mean they ever want to be tracked. Never know when the officials can wing something against them based on something they found on a W10 PC.

The torrent tracker sites may want to maintain a higher level of privacy, so visitors will use their tracker sites since a lot of Americans use Torrent sites. In America, you can get sued for millions of dollars for copyright infringement even if you just download stuff, so a lot of Americans will want their Torrent sites to be as private, and secure as possible.

A lot of Torrenters also use proxies, and VPN connections to hide their browsing history from the RIAA, MPAA, and law enforcement.
