Marvel Studios has no plans to recast the late actor, and the notion of recreating him using CGI was already shot down by Marvel Studios President and Marvel Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige. According to Lupito Nyong'o, however, writer/director Ryan Coogler "reshaped the second movie is so respectful of the loss we’ve all experienced as a cast and as a world. So it feels spiritually and emotionally correct to do this."
Directed by Ryan Coogler, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever stars Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett and Martin Freeman. The film arrives in theaters July 8, 2022.
