Bloodstained is a product of the kickstarter created by Koji Igarashi, the mastermind behind Symphony of the Night. Hopefully it will be a kickstarter success story more along the lines of Shovel Knight rather than Yooka Laylee. I was listening to the Easy Allies giving their impressions and they are digging the game. The only changes they would make is a 10% increase to movement speed. It looks like the main character is constantly running into strong winds.

Bloodstained is planned to release March 2018 on PC, PS4, XB1, Switch, and Vita.

I haven't heard of this one before and I am surprised since I love 2D scroll type of games. It always reminds me of the good old times when we didn't know what 3D even was. The UI itself gives me a Final Fantasy vibe (where they show the menu in the gameplay). I think this game will be really successful - it seems to have some depth, good devs, and an RPG+crafting system.

Thank you for the information!

Have you played any of the 2D Castlevanias? The modern ones are some of my favorite side scrollers.

How the heck did I overlook this trailer? Anyways I agree with the movement speed, the character seems to be moving very ridged.

Please be good, please be good, please be good.

I'll be honest, I'm genuinely afraid for this title, as these sort of "spiritual successors" which have been funded through kickstarter lately haven't gone well. There is Yooka Laylee, the successor to Banjo-Kazooie, it was pretty much "meh." There is Mighty No. 9, the successor to Mega Man, also "meh."

This is basically a spiritual successor to Symphony of the Night, and while I'm avoiding getting hyped just yet, I think it has more potential than the others. I do agree on the movement speed, but I hope they listen to community reactions and tweak things before it's out.
