Blu-Ray Outselling HD-DVD 2-to-1

Home Media Research is reporting that from January 2007 to September, Blu-Ray has moved 2.6 million discs. HD-DVD has sold 1.4 million.

These numbers don't include the 190,00 copies of Transformers sold on HD-DVD, but analysts are predicting that Blu-Ray should maintain its lead.

Mainly, they point to the format war itself for being the reason that consumers haven't really moved to either next-gen format in large amounts.

Man, at this rate the original DVDs may become obsolete for many years to come.
