So I was really over joyed on the day I found out that toonami would be airing blue exorcist, which from the promos, music and story line sounded like a really awesome and I even thought about buying the 100 dollar blu-ray dvds to watch it. Boy am I glad I didn't, this anime was a pretty big let down.

After the first few episodes which were really great the series goes down hill a bit focusing on daily school life and building relationships and such. By the time it picks up the series has reached the manga and moves onto a FMA type arc and ending which isn't bad.

I would recommend watching this at some point but sadly the anime doesn't live up to what it could really be.

I actually enjoyed the series though I do see what you mean about it dragging in the middle. When I watched the first episodes I thought for sure it was going to involve a lot of action. While I did like the way they went about it I think it would definitely benefit from a second season. The first felt more like a lead in than it's own complete story.
