BMW Car mystery fires: Parked cars have burst into flames

An ABC News investigation found dozens of incidents across the country.

I think parked BMW car fires proves that More Advance Cars with a lot of tech like BMW cars which come with a lot of tech like a touchscreen, entertainment system, better car computers, remote starting, etc can be unsafe when parked because of a chance of fires.

But, a more basic car like classic gas powered car which only has no tech or very little tech feature is less likely to randomly catch on fire when parked, and turned off.

I think there is a chance that the car computer, or electronic device in standby mode was leaking electricity, and the electricity burned through the plastic housing on the wires and cables, and eventually lighted flammable materials like plastic and leather seats, oil, and gas on fire.

I agree there is too much tech in cars. I feel most people don't think that their car can randomly catch on fire when parked like defective smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 where some phones caught on fire when it was off.

Defective car electronics can cause electrical sparks if the wiring, power supply, battery, and circuits are defective, and poorly maintained where rusted electronics, and damaged electronic parts are not replaced. Slow car crashes and very bumpy roads may damage the electronics and car battery in cars where they may break, and cause a fire.

Floods and snow storms may damage the fragile electronics from the moisture/water which gets into the electronics, and battery which may damage them and cause them more likely to catch on fire.

A lot of places like the US are becoming hotter in the summer because of forest fires, and the heat may cause some car tech like car computers and the electrical system to break, and give off sparks.
