Capcom doesn't seem to be ready to begin talking about specifics on the US packaging for Resident Evil 5, but over in Japan it's a different story. Last week, we detailed a limited edition of the Japanese version that will be sold exclusively through Capcom's e-Capcom online retailer. Today, we've got details on the game's standard versions.

Yes, Capcom is packing the standard versions with bonuses. These are specific between each console. PS3 buyers will get a special making-of video recorded directly on the game disc. Xbox 360 buyers will get a separate soundtrack CD and a special metal case. As previously announced, both versions will sell for 8,800 yen.

The 360 version is actually referred to as a "Deluxe Edition." Despite the naming, this will be the only way to buy the 360 version initially. The standard version, minus the metal case (and presumably minus the soundtrack as well) will trickle into retail once supplies of the Deluxe Editon run out.

For those planning on importing, Capcom has confirmed that the e-Capcom Limited Edition version will include the Deluxe Edition of the game, complete with the metal case.

All these packaging plans apply to the Japanese market only at the moment. We'll be sure and let you know if Capcom America has anything similar on the way.
