It's been over two years since fans of Aaron McGruber's comic strip have been able to watch their favorite characters on TV. The Adult Swim series has been surrounded with controversy from the start -- from its use of the n-word to its criticism of BET (which resulted in two unaired episodes for Season 2). Production of Season 3 began in 2009 but up until now it was completely up in the air as to when the season would begin airing.
Today creator McGruber announced via his Twitter account (@aaronmcgruder) that Boondocks is "coming back May 2nd! (We swear!)" He went on to say that fans can follow the series' official Twitter account, @BoondocksBTLG, for updates.
