Xbox Borderlands 3 is making Xbox One X to over heat

Borderlands 3 is hot, too hot for the Xbox One X.

2K has confirmed that a Borderlands 3 Xbox One X patch is currently in the works to address an issue that shuts down Microsoft's console. Since the game's launch earlier this month, numerous players on Xbox One X have reported that he game is caused their console to overheat. On various occasions, this has resulted in the Xbox One X shutting down in order to prevent damage to the console.

Though the patch release date is unknown at this time.

It is disappointing that game testers did not report this problem before the games relrase.

I wonder if blowing cold air from a desk fan or those laptop cooling pads with fans onto the Xbox zone X would help with preventing overheating when playing Borderlands 3.

We don't know the full story here, does it affect those with modded Xbox? Is it due to the environment that reported users playing?

from what I am reading, its not actual over heating, more like some kind of software glitch triggering the warning and action.

If that's the case, thank goodness that it only a software glitch and nothing hardware related.
