Alright, so I know how to build a computer, tell what a CPU's socket type is, and how to tell if I need to buy an over-the-top Power Supply for the computer. I also know how to zip-tie a CPU fan to a Graphics Card should the need arise, but, I don't know anything much, if at all about the newest CPU's and Video Cards from NVidia and AMD. With Motherboards, I might end up going with Asus or Acer, or some other brand I know of, and maybe a CPU/MB bundle would be the best choice (For the Socket Type to be a definite fit.). Video Cards I'm leaning towards Radeon because of what I've heard of them from a personal friend of mine, and my ITE teacher (Who is also the only person I know of outside of family that played Unreal before I introduced them to it in real life.).

I've heard that AMD will be releasing a new set of CPU's and Video Cards (I think it was 9XXX) soon, so would I need to wait until the new toys come out, or buy "now" (Read: late September)? I'll have about $1,000 USD to play with, so I should be able to get most of what I'm looking at getting (Something that I can upgrade in two or three years, I don't want to buy a new computer and then have to upgrade it months after to keep up.).

Here's the only things I don't have to buy:

CD-Rom
Desktop Tower
Maybe Harddrives. May get a Terabyte hard drive. (Any recommendations on brands would be appreciated.)

I'm thinking about a Quad Core that clocks in at about 2.5 GHz or more (How are Eight Cores? My Dad has one at his work that clocks in at like, 2 GHz or something like that.), and a Graphics Card that can run Serious Sam 3 on Medium at least.

Here's a CPU/Motherboard combo I'm looking at. http://www.newegg.co...t=Combo.1400908
Here's a Video Card I'm looking at: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16814202026

With that Motherboard, I don't think I need a sound card, and what CPU/MB/Video Card I get dictates what Power Supply I get.

Austin on YouTube has a lot of good recommendations on computer parts to build PCs at your budget of $1000.

Here is his $1000 computer build from November 2012.

His $1500 build from June 2013 would probably be useful as well.
