Anyone here have experience building an electric guitar from a kit, or electric guitar parts you buy from a store and online store?

I seen a few online videos about people building an electric guitar from a kit which they bought from eBay for around $60-200. Some people say building an electric guitar from a kit help them save more money compared to buying a fully assembled guitar from a company like Fender Guitars. But, the quality of parts in guitar kits are sometimes not as good if the kit is made by a bad company.

There are also people who want to paint the guitar's wood themselves for a custom paint job compared to a solid color like most cheap guitars.

Never done it myself nor anyone who has. But I imagine its a fun thing to do.

Building an electric guitar is fun especially if you want a custom painted guitar with a nice picture, or pattern on the back and front of the guitar. There are also a lot of parts like the guitar's neck and electronic components which you can change to change the sound quality, and appearance of the guitar.

I think it may also be easier to fix guitars which you build yourself because you built it, so you know what screw drivers, and parts to use to build a guitar compared to buying a guitar from a store which may use less-common screws like those screws with a star pattern on the top.

Some people who know how to use a saw, drill, hammer, screw driver, and other wood tools could make a custom made guitar body which is one of a kind, and cheaper than buying the wooden guitar body from eBay and Amazon.

I saw someone make a cool Alligator Electric guitar on YouTube.
