I saw that. It's really stupid. I'd love to say it's a joke, but people are way too sensitive now a days over NOTHING.

I saw this too. I really don't know what to think, because as I white woman, the hand matches mine fairly well. I personally couldn't really care less what color the hand is, but is that because it's just a hand and I really don't care? Or is it because it matches mine, so it's just not something I'd notice subconsciously, because I'm white, and frankly almost everything like this tends to be white? Would I care more if I had a different skin color? If I were a man?

I try not to make judgments, because for some people, this IS an problem. It may seem silly to me, but I can understand why someone with a different skin color might actually want to see their own skin color in a game for once. Or their gender. Who am I to get all uppity because someone who is black would like to see their own skin color, instead of it just being the usual default Caucasian color? I mean, you gotta admit, in nearly every game, Caucasian is usually the default option.

I'm kind of weirded out they didn't go with a cartoon hand anyway. Or maybe like, not have a hand in it at all?

If you haven't done so yet, go back and re-read the article. They corrected it. The hand will have various color options for skin tones. Problem solved.

Yea it's an easy problem to solve.

My issue with this kind of stuff is the fact that people get offended over every little thing now. Having to add this little change consumed time that could have been better spent improving aspects of the game that affect actual game play. Plus, if you give in to little demands like this these people that don't have a thick skin or can't take a joke just come back and complain about more and more little things.

We've seen a lot of this type of stuff recently from people that just seem to get offended by anything. Honestly, I think a lot of them are just doing it for the attention. The people developing games are doing hard work and it takes a lot of dedication to see a project through to the end. Why can't all these people that are offended by stuff like this make their own games, movies, and comic books? We have the internet now, you can pretty much crowd fund anything and get the funds to build and release something. There is no excuse for not begin able to build your own game if you really have the desire to learn how to do it and are willing to put in the "butt time" as one of my professors back in my college days used to say.

Which 'professor' would that be? Would he happen to have a doctorate and the first name of Thomas, by any chance? ;)

Also, yes, I am sick of seeing people constantly complain about trivial things like this as well, although I am sure a lot of things I bitch and moan about are considered trivial to others. Apparently, the options for the different hands in this example were always there and the writer jumped the gun before looking into the matter, in this case, so I doubt any time was consumed by having to fix anything. Generally speaking, pallet swaps aren't too difficult to do, so that was fortunate. But, it just goes to show, like I always say; 'options'. Everything should have options from the start. If you make a sequel to a game, for example, don't remove features or obligate new ones such as touch controls (like Street Fighter X Tekken on PS Vita) make it an option. Not all of us want to accidentally hit something on the back of a console or whatever it may be and have it interfere with our goal.Voices coming through controllers. Aim assist. touch controls. gyroscopic controls. mic / voice operations. all should be options unless the game revolves around it, in my opinion.

Oh for sure I agree, the one thing that annoys me the most about console FPS games is the built in aim-assist. Call of Duty is really bad about this, I hate when I'm trying to pick a guy off in the distance and my crosshair jumps to someone else. I find it to be really unfair especially when it reveals someone hiding in the bushes that I otherwise wouldn't see. It's so obvious in that series I don't understand why the simple option of turning it off isn't there (at least in the ones I've played).

There are other FPS games that implement this in a sneaky way, for example Left 4 Dead actually curves bullets if they are within a certain cone area. This makes it possible to headshot people that are hiding behind walls and objects that are solid and shouldn't allow bullet to pass through. Most people are unaware that it exists but those that are...man they can just stroll through a map and headshot anything that dives for cover. At the high level you have to play around it and we'd all turn it off if we could. :(

A lot of FPS games annoy me with quirks like this. Many games would benefit so much from just a hand full of custom match options. I just hate to see so much effort poured into trivial stuff when there are so many little issues in most games that would benefit everyone is some time was spent on them. Gaming has gotten too much like hollywood, everything has to be politically correct and whatever people that can't take a joke deem as progressive. You can't even do satire anymore without someone rushing to complain about it on twitter and calling for a boycott. They don't even have to see the game...just a few screenshots and here comes the mob to tell you how to do your job/hobby.
