According to some solid rumors, this game will be coming back remastered with a pre-order of a special edition of the next COD (rumored to be Infinite Warfare), it will come with the campaign and 10 multiplayer maps, touched up for the new consoles. Do you think this is a good idea? I think its a great way to market the new COD as many people will buy it purely for this, however I bet it will take activity away from the COD 2016 community which might look bad for them in the longer term, as servers may be a little empty.
I played COD4 a lot back when it came out. Definitely my favorite out of the series. It is disappointing that you have to buy Infinity Warfare to get it, was hoping it'd be standalone, nonetheless still it's nice they are remastering it.
I'm a fan of call duty game, so whatever it is as long as it is good and make the game better then I'll be happy with it. I'll be excited to try it out.
I would love to see this remastered, I think GTA San Andreas was remastered very well. COD 4 was my first COD game, and I loved it. I would definitely purchase this because it's history, and who doesn't like to have history on their shelves.
Well... here it is. Remastered and all. Its a shame that we have to get Infinite Warfare to get it but I guess its another game we can play when we eventually get bored of the reworked classic. Judging by the gameplay they released, its going to be pretty awesome and they have finally answered the prayers of a large portion of their playerbase. Everyone kept asking for a modern/older shooter and Infinity Ward delivered. Judging by the general consensus around the game, it does have some appeal, but Battlefield 1 really put it to shame, just look at the YouTube trailers and the like/dislike ratios.
Anyway, I hope they don't screw up multiplayer because at the end of the day that's where its going to go down, as with every COD title. I have high hopes for both and to be honest, I'm quite excited to play Infinite Warfare when it comes out. The only real reason it received so much hate is because of herd mentality.
I really did love playing this game back in the day. It was my first major Call of Duty, and I poured hours of gametime into it. Is anyone planning on getting/playing the remaster? I think I might consider buying it for PC, but I'll have to see how good it is.
As long as they don't change anything and they actually just upgrade the graphics it might be worth getting the new one. The old one is still very much playable on PC however, you can even get in on the custom modded servers and virtually play an unlimited number of maps. I still have the old copy and go on from time to time. You can play CS maps plus tons of custom ones, you should look into the modded servers if you have the only version for PC.
The story is nice actually, I do love playing FPS games like CoD and I never get bored with it. I started playing it on my PC and it evolves to other gaming consoles like PS3. The game contains really nice plot and concept.
Oh, Call of Duty. I started out my online FPS career with Call of Duty 2. While everyone was addicted to Counter-Strike, Call of Duty 2 had my undivided attention. I honestly thought they couldn't improve on that fantastic multiplayer experience.
And then Modern Warfare came out. Not only did it have an epic single player campaign, but the multiplayer took everything Call of Duty 2 did right and pumped it full of steroids. I can honestly say, Modern Warfare was hands down the single best multiplayer shooter experience I've ever had.
Activision caught lighting in a jar with this entry, and no Call of Duty title has been able to say the same ever since.
