A trademark filed in late September by Activision Publishing, Inc. hints at the possibility of a 'Call of Duty' movie is in the works.
The 'Call of Duty' trademark, spotted by Trademork (via Destructoid) is related to "pre-recorded movies featuring comedy, drama, action, adventure, music, theatrical performances and/or animation."
This should come as no surprise given the popularity of the franchise. A movie based off the series is a guaranteed money-maker.
Activision unveiled a brand new trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 yesterday, building up anticipation to the game's worldwide release on November 10 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
Update: Reader Sage tipped us that Infinity Ward's chatty community man Robert Bowling twittered: "First round of meetings in Paris wrapped. Grabbing lunch with Xavier Gens, director of the Hitman film while in town. Talking game films." Perhaps a film adaptation is already brewing?
