Multi Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Disc has no game data on it

Reports indicate Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (including its necessary day one update) sits at over 100 GB on PS5 consoles and around 131 GB on Xbox consoles. Some fans may have hoped to circumvent some of this by downloading it from a physical disc, but that's not really an option. As discovered by Twitter user Does It Play?, the disc has a grand total of 70 MB available to download via it. In truth, this sounds more like the verification needed to play the game via the disc.

This is cheap. Yeah, there might be a cloud service sending the memory to your console but it better be kept on when long way down the road the Digital Store closes. Then again this is a game that needs servers, but then those stay up forever.

That is unfortunate that the disc contains no game installer data.

Activision could of at least filled the disc with game music, artwork, interviews, and other files if they don't want to include the actual game in the disc for some reason like preventing piracy, or people playing the game on emulators.

I still feel the disc version is better because people can re-sell the game and box if they don't like the game, so people can get back some of their money instead of buying digital games which usually can't be resold.

I agree with you that it is disappointing that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 requires a massive download, even if you buy the physical disc. This is becoming more and more common with modern games, and it is a trend that I am not a fan of.
